I won't lie. I'm lonely. The house is too quiet at night. I've started a journal, an actual book I write in. Add to that my lack of a computer, and you probably won't be seeing me around too much more. Take it easy, kiddos.

It's official. Nicole and I are getting divorced. She says she's not happy, and she's taking Archer to Michigan with her. She's leaving on October 31st and asked that I not follow. To be as succinct as possible, she says there's nothing I can do to fix things and that this is better for the both of us, which I suppose it is. She also says I can have him whenever I want. I'd write more, but I don't think I can. Expect a link to a new livejournal, chock full of emo and bad poetry sometime in the future. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy black eyeliner and spiked arm bracelets.

So, this daily update thing isn't working.
Monday, August 23rd
We went to Mike's today; just when things are going freaking golden they have to fall apart. We spent 4 of the 6 hours there just bullshitting, telling stupid jokes we've all heard again and arguing over stupid fucking semantics like every other time, and ended up getting jack squat done. The problem is is that the group's two main personalities, namely Shawn and Erik, have gone AWOL; Erik's moved and Shawn's car is dead for another month or so, levaing us with a group of semi-useful followers looking for a leader (me being one of them, of course). We need to do something to that group before it all just drains down the hole; things are getting lame.
Tuesday, August 24th
Beekeepers unite, today was the day the Axons went hot. And hot they got.
I dm'ed a modern campaign... I was worried because the group had one jackass and a bunch of videogamers trying their hands at role playing, but things actually came out golden; I pulled some, if not most, of the adventure straight out of the pooper, but things went well and everyone's hyped. Hurrah for me!
Wednesday, August 25th
Nicole started getting more and more sick today; she had to bring herself to the Doctor. I'm worried because I've seen symptoms like hers before, but I sit on my ass all day and have been spending my spare time piecing together puzzles and whatnot, so I'm seeing ghosts everywhere and overthinking things too much. She's been kind of woosy today, too; the poor gal has me worried sick. On a lighter note, Archer found out he was cute today; he's been posing everywhere, and giving everyone scrunched up "I'm cute and I know it" faces. I guess the easiest way to describe it without putting effort into adjectives would be:
XD
That is all.

Saturday, August 21st
I spent the whole day at Bradd and Jenni's. Half of the full group was missing, so we agreed to test out another game system: paranoia. It blew nuts, though the concept is pretty fun. The game rules and playthrough is just weak, though, making the game poop on a stick. Now, I'm sure some people are big fans of paranoia and to that I say "sure, I can understand how, for come people and in certain situations, poop on a stick could be a good thing." I cooked dinner, which was chili dogs where i cooked up the chili myself and did crazy stuff to the hot dogs; they liked it, and so did I, so I'ma do that more often. It was sex in a hotdog bun. The real fun of the day, however, came from after dinner, when we all just sat around and talked. (Nicole had to leave, unfortunately; she would've loved this part greatly, which would be in great contrast to the first half of the day.) After a hand of euchre and Once Upon a Time, we just sat and reminisced; it's weird, really. I never really considered Bradd and Jenni the type of friends I'd go and, say, play videogames with or anything, but sitting and talking with them made me realize I have about 3 solid years of memories with these people. Home on a stick.
Sunday, August 22nd
We tried out BJ's for breakfast this morning, and it was pretty cool. The restaurant itself was huge and open; the ceiling went on forever, and it had a very free, calming ambience to it. The food was pretty cool, and I think Nicole and I both agree that Applebee's famous Blondie has been ousted by the Pizookie, may it live forever. Afterwards we spent some time hanging out with The Rees, who had just returned from England. We sat and listened to his tories, and England sounds like a cool place; most work ends at 5 and for some reason pudding means bread. It was cool seeing him again; he's the kind of guy you can hang out with without there being need for some grand plan; you can just sit, watch tv, and talk. After that it was off to Casey's house for d&d; today's game was a little different than most in that we didn't get much done, but everyone seemed to have fun nonetheless, so up your nose with a rubber hose.

Given that I don't do anything, ever, I'm pretty horrible at this whole daily update thing.
Wednesday, August 18th
Poop on a stick, man, I don't know. I forgot. I believe it involved hanging out, playing video games and cuddling the family.
Thursday, August 19th
My recollections for this day are a touch more cohesive, but not quite complete yet. I remember Nicole complaining because I was going to play a game online, thus tying up the computer for about 7 hours or so, but it ended up only lasting about 2 hours or so. Also, Nicole attempted to put pink streaks in her dakr brown hair today, and it came out burgundy'ish. It looked nice, but wasn't quite the look she was going for.
Friday, August 20th
Today. I can recall today fairly well. After a morning of napping with Archer, I got dressed and took Nicole with me on an errand run; getting out of the house was nice. My Dork beanie was in the backseat, and everytime I looked back at Archer he had it on, covering a good chunk of his face. It was absolutely adorable. The errand run ended in a horrible explosion, however, when Nicole and I got into a pretty big fight. Pissed and inconsolable, I spent the afternoon with my friend Joseph. After a few failed attempts at trying to play some video games, we ended up watching Kill Bill 2, which is three different kinds of awesome. That movie rocks the house.
Quick Note: I saw Alien versus Predator while we were down in San Diego, and was really disappointed that I was really disappointed. I'm not one to dislike things (well, movies anyways) and always get all bummed out when a movie bothers me; I'm all for enjoying everything.
Also, someone remind me to make a "I love Archer" post. I'm always meaning to, but almost never get around to it.
PS: Aww. PSS: Screw that last one, double Aww.

Today was fun enough. My weekly online game's been cancelled, so I was able to put together a new one; modern setting, with secret agent types fighting The Man. DAMN THE MAN. With the extra time I was able to watch both Big Fish and 50 First Dates in one day. What sincerely awesome movies, both of them. I also signed up for that new Blockbuster game dealie, and I tried out Red Dead Revolver... it was pretty freaking sweet until I realized that it wasn't. At all.
So, I switched that in for Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, and so far it's looking pretty promising. The battle scheme is a lot like the original Parasite Eve's is, which makes it prime candidate for President of Rock. I took Archer with me to Blockbuster, pitying the little guy for being cooped up in the house all day. He wa s alittle angel in both the car and the store, so we cruised around for a bit and I got him an ice cream cone. Knowing she'd be jealous, I got Nicole a McFlurry. Who knew they came in Snicker's flavor? Mogan came over for swim, which was pretty cool; we were able to recap the wedding from both our perspectives, and it looks like we're one step closer to getting Chip a lady like friend though, agreed, he'd be better of with Rachel. AND A HALF.
Quick Addendums to the day: - Big Fish. Wow, just wow. That ending was a powerhouse for sure; just when I thought it was going to cop out (in a very un cop-outish like manner, arguably) it went and dropped hot coals in my lapped and told me they were just beginning. Bad analogy, maybe; imagine a world where hot coals in your lap is a good thing, and you have the idea. - 50 First Dates quickly went from hilarious comedy to mushy love story, but I can't complain; I love both. I'd like to see Adam Sandler in a serious role; a soldier type, or something. - Red Dead Revolver, my apologies. Everyone spoke so highly, but all I was doing was shooting people. That's it. I didn't even have reason to, most of the time. For shame. - Snood = Dynomite = Puzzle Bobble = Bust a Move = Hooray! - I'm going through some Keane songs I downloaded the other day, after being moved by "Somewhere Only We Know"... so far, it's pretty good. - Incidentally, the singer guy from keane looks just like Ben. Luckily, he doesn't read my journal, so booyah. - Wait, no, I just looked up his picture. nothing like you, Ben. You're stuck being part of Dashboard. - On the big rock candy mountain, the cops have wooden legs.

Damn, looks like I missed 20 days. I'm sure wonderful and altogether great things happened during them. Use your imaginations and, most of all, believe.
Here's to staying constant, though. Chip, Nicole and I just recently returned from a roadtrip down to San Diego for Mogan's wedding. I'm not a big fan of long tripss and being forced to sit down for long periods of time (I prefer doing it willingly), so I was reticent. Thanks to nostalgia, funny things to be pointed and laughed at and Chip's iPod, the trip itself was pretty enjoyable. The wedding, however, the wedding took the cake. Bravo to Morgan here; the year spent in planning totally proved worth it, as the entire thing went off without a hitch (save for the part where I, the usher, arrived late and was told at quite literally the last minute that I was to escort Mogan's mom down the aisle). Also, kudos to Chip for busting the HOT MACK on the girls we were sitting next to; despite their father's browbeating, Chip was able to lay in some smoove words and get the giggling going on; he flubbed at the end by not getting any contact information before we left, but he plans to get their email through Morgan, in true geeky internet stalker fashion. I could go on forever in tiny details and, in all truth, I should, as I'll forget all of this in the next few hours, but I won't.
Because I'm lazy.
Monday, August 16th:
Nicole was working the morning shift today, a schedule change from her normally having Mondays off, so I was left alone with Archer all day. The task proved not to be as daunting as it sounded; Archer was a real pal and we were able to chill, archer-daddy style, for most of the day. The little pimp's gotta work on his stamina, however; he konked out right in my arms halfway through the day, and spent the rest of the afternoon like a 30 lb. sweatrag. This, of course, made Boo jealous, so for awhile my body was more sofa than it was Vessel of My Immortal Soul. I'm sure Jesus won't mind.
Nicole finally came home and we had a huge Familyfest of hugs and kisses for a good long while; Boo's still learning that kiss doesn't mean "violently attack my face", though, so we're working on that. We were supposed ot have a game tonight, but that ended up being cancelled, like Yesterday's, and last Tuesday's. God's trying to tell me something. This turned out for the best, however, as Nicole proved to be tired from her day at work. I just set her to bed right now, actually. I'm thinking of joining her.

I haven't updated in a while. Whoops. I'll work on some posts in a bit; until then...

Here's to recaps.
Friday wasn't spent doing much if I recall correctly, though Nicole and I did go and see I, Robot. I love that woman to death; I can go to movies, as naive and impressionable as I am, and not expect a deep 3 hour conversation as to why the robots shouldn't of been able to take over like they did, or how fake Will Smith's apartment was, or anything. We can just go to movies and enjoy them for what they are; pieces of art made by a huge team of people over a pretty long space of time. To sum, I enjoy being able to be stupid with her.
Saturday was D&D day, if that much could be said about it. It seemed like a bad day for most; Bradd bowed out right before the game; he was sick all week, and apparently wasn't up for gaming. Morgan was half sleeping/half slouching through the short four hour session we did; he'd burned himself out on work that entire week and really just wasn't up for dm'ing. The game wasn't bad as is, though. Then Nicole started getting a headache and felt a throbbing pain in her knee, so I took her home to let her 'rest'. Read: Play RO. The beautiful day wasn't watse,d though; I was able to talk Chip and the brothers Schmidt to come see I, Robot with me; it was pretty obvious the brothers didn't like it, but I think Chip was able to appreciate it for being a dumb sci fi movie. The night was ended by watching them all hit each other with boffing sticks while i refereed our little tournament of death in the parking lot; Joseph, surprisingly, came out the victor with his fencing techniques. For shame, fellas. For shame.
Sunday, yesterday, was pretty fun. I found out that, even at reasonable speeds, I can make it to Oakland in a little over 50 minutes so hopefully I won't have to burn cash on gas lost to speeding from now on. The night's game was fun; we were finally able to track down the vamp my character had been hunting and got some nice cash It'll be kind of hard giving my character a reason to continue adventuring and not settle down and be the Mayor in his father's stead (his father was killed by the vamp, so Jed went to go chase him down), but I'm sure the dm'll think of something. All in all , a good game and good times; our fairy tale happyland group was kind of squashed, however, by the arrival of a neutral evil halfling rogue with light fingers and an itchy backstabby hand, so we'll have to figure out a way to deal with him. I suggested carrying him in a papoose or even using one of those wrist leashes for naughty children (i.e. Archer), but everyone's disagreed so far. =(
Quick Addendums to the few days: - Damn the man. I love Will Smith and everything he embodies; his music's fun, his acting's hilarious and he pulls off some pretty believable action roles. - We ended up having to use this handicap permit thing to find parking at the uber-theatre we went to Friday night. I felt really guilty until about 20 minutes later, when I forgot about it entirely. =D - Saturday was a nice and hazy day, and it sucks that everyone was so tired. Get well soon, and whatnot. - Nicole's feeling better, by the by, but she's still a little wobbly when she walks around. - This sleepiness still hasn't left; I used to be able to run on 6 hours, but now I find myself sleeping at least my full eight hours. I need to lose some damned weight. - It was cool hanging out with the Twins Schmidt; it's been a few months since last I saw those guys. - I, Robot was better the first time around, simply becaus ethe story blew me away. The second time through, I was just waiting for the robot kung fu. - Given how dangerous it is, I've still yet to come to terms with why so many people speed on the highway. Please explain. - I'm working on Jed picking up his little brother or something as a cohort; hopefully we'll be able to stop by Silver Bend, his hometown, next game, since Casey won't be here.

Whoops.
Tuesday: I dm'ed the online game today, which went pretty well, considering I didn't plan anything. Not a damned thing. We ended up having to call the game early because some guy had to leave, which worked well, since I didn't have any idea what I was doing. They seemed to enjoy it, though. No swim? Why? Because Morgan is teh busy. Still.
Wednesday: Nicole catches word of some long lost friend of hers having moved to San Francisco. So, not only do I hear that one of her gay friends she used to have back in her rough and tumble party days is now local, but that she's going over to his house in Richmond. Hooray. So, the day's spent in awkward anxiety, not wanting to call and hoping to God that the person doesn't slice her open and sell her to hungry poor people. She comes home around midnight and all's well, though. Hoorjay.
Thursday: Everything is "Oh, did you know Glenn this" and "did you know that Glenn that" and whatnot, so I'm just all a tingle with news of her new friend. As bitter as I sound, however, I'm glad she's found another friend out here; I know she can get lonely at times. Since I had to cut Tuesday's session off early, I dm again today, and Nicole throws a hissy fit. See, I told her Tuesday evening that I was going to need the computer again on Thursday, so she can have the computer all day Wednesday. Well, she decides to spend Wednesday recalling drunken excursions with an old buddy, so suddenly I'm in trouble for cheating her out of computer use. The world weeps in sympathy.
Hooga dooga!
